Essays of a Quitter

Why I Quit Smoking is the actual starting point of this site. Someone asked what it took for each of us to quit smoking. My response (a long one) became the basis for this essay. If you read nothing else on this site, this is the one page you simply must visit. Over the years, hundreds of people have written to tell me how this one essay helped them quit. If it worked for so many others, it just might help you, too.

QOF (for One-Quarter Old Fogey) was my celebration post when I hit three months Smober. It talks about the first months of my process, and my first visit to my father's grave since he crossed over.

HOF+ finds me seven months Smober and proud of it.

DDOF - Four years as a non-smoker. And, no quitting isn't tough. Let me introduce you to tough. And pray you never meet it.

Starting Over - After a fall that lasted more than a year, I realized that, if I didn't quit again soon, I would smoke myself to death.

Quit Before It's Too Late - Three very brave women bare their souls to help you understand why you need to quit now. Many thanks to Brenny, Dawn and Heidi for letting me place these short essays here for your benefit.

Mum - A guest poem, written by a young girl who loves her mother but hates her smoking. All she wants is for her mom to be healthy.

In the future, I hope to produce a few more essays for this site. For now, you'll have to be content with what I've got.

Enjoy...
