Guest Poem - Mum

Return to Home Page

This poem was written by a wonderful little girl of ten years about her mother's smoking. Folks, if this doesn't make you quit, I may just have to shoot you. Thanks to Sal for letting me put this on my site. You have a very special daughter!LB

MUM

My mum Smokes
'It will kill you' I say
She tried to give up, but started again,
Filling me with dismay.

My Mum's lungs are coated in darkness,
She is kind, caring and thoughtful too,
But her lungs are black and blue.

She is helpfull,
And hopes for my future,
'You must not smoke'
Never ever.

I see such pain,
Calling, calling from the lungs in vain,
I want to help,
So many worries.

But my Mum is kind,
My Mum and I will always bind,
My Mum and me,
Are family
